Sápmi (Lappland) 2005 und 2006

Fascination of Lapland, I would like to mention with regard to the indigenous people of the seeds rather Sápmi: Three times I have traveled Sápmi north of the Arctic Circle in Sweden and Norway. Some 500 kilometers of which I went on foot, the long-distance hiking trails and Padjelantaleden Kungsleden (2005, red) and on the Nordkalottleden along the Swedish-Norwegian border (2006, blue).

My Sápmi-Tour 2006 is the northern extension of my tour in 2005. She led me around 260 miles along the Swedish-Norwegian border from Abisko to Vaisaluokta on Akkajaure (Akka reservoir), the starting point meines Trekks im vergangenen Jahr. Nach meiner ersten (Süd-)Schwedenreise 2002 kam der Entschluss, 2003 nach Norrbotten in Nordschweden zu fahren. Mitte August 2003 erreichte ich den Polarkreis und erkundete das Gebiet rund um die drei Nationalparks Stora Sjöfallet, Padjelanta und den Sarek von Jokkmokk aus. Ich merkte jedoch sehr schnell, dass sich die so genannte "letzte Wildnis Europas" nicht durch Tagestripps erschließen lässt. Deshalb I wanted to explore the area in a multi-day hike.
